Darfur Residents Flee Fighting into Chad, UN Migration Agency Says

The International Organization for Migration reports that displaced people from Sudan's Darfur region are crossing the border into Chad to escape ongoing fighting. The agency also recorded the displacement of more than two thousand people from El Fasher toward Tawila in recent days, driven by deteriorating security conditions in the area.

Why now: Fresh fighting around El Fasher in Sudan's civil war is driving a new wave of displacement toward Chad and Tawila.
