Two American Airlines Flights Share the Same Flight Number
Original: Two American Airlines Flights End Up with the Same Flight Numbers
American Airlines has once again assigned the same flight number to two different flights operating at the same time, a duplication that can confuse passengers, crews and air traffic control. It is at least the second such occurrence, drawing criticism from aviation watchers who question the airline's scheduling and flight-number management controls.
Why now: Repeated flight-number duplication by a major US airline raises safety and operational concerns, prompting discussion.
