Trump says he rejected plan to tear down the Oval Office

Original: the oval office

President Trump says he rejected a Secret Service proposal to tear down and rebuild the Oval Office. The claim has drawn attention and mockery online, with many questioning why such a plan was even considered for one of the most famous rooms in the White House. The White House has not released details of the alleged proposal, and it is unclear what prompted the Secret Service to suggest it or when the discussion took place.

Why now: Trump's claim about an extraordinary Secret Service proposal involving the Oval Office is surprising and generating widespread discussion.
