Reports say Malaysia could acquire second-hand NH90 NFH military helicopters from Airbus Helicopters, with the aircraft refurbished before delivery. The story is being shared in French defence and aerospace circles, drawing comparisons to buying used goods on second-hand platforms. It would be a notable twist for a programme that has struggled to find export buyers.
Why now: The idea of a nation buying refurbished military helicopters second-hand is unusual and fuels discussion about the NH90's export troubles.
