A demonstration against Switzerland's asylum and deportation policies has been called for Saturday, 3 October at Kornhausplatz in St. Gallen. Organisers say the start time was moved to 15:00 after posters mistakenly listed 14:00. The protest targets the authorities responsible for deportations, arguing the state deports people every year under the current asylum system.
Why now: Swiss asylum and deportation policy is drawing criticism, and organisers are mobilising people to attend the St. Gallen rally.
