Israel-bound flight lands in Saudi Arabia after violent pilot incident
Original: Israel-bound flight lands in Saudi Arabia after violent incident between pilots
A passenger flight heading from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted and landed in Saudi Arabia after a violent altercation broke out between the two pilots on board. The diversion is notable given the flight was bound for Israel and made an unplanned stop in a country that only recently opened its airspace to Israeli-bound traffic. Details about the pilots' condition and the investigation remain limited.
Why now: The rare combination of an Israel-bound flight making an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, driven by a violent clash between the pilots, is drawing attention.
