Donald Trump said he and Elon Musk recently met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, claiming Xi would 'take every data center that we don't want' because China 'wants every single one.' Musk, asked whether he agreed with the arrangement, answered 'Yes.' The remarks portray an unusual willingness to hand off unwanted US data center capacity to China, framing it as Beijing's eagerness for computing infrastructure.

Why now: The remarks come amid intense US-China competition over AI and data center infrastructure, making the proposed arrangement controversial.
