Ben Collins takes on a 250cc superkart, speeds nearing F1 levels
Original: FASTER THAN F1? | I NEARLY SH@T MYSELF IN THE SUPERKART
Racing driver Ben Collins, formerly The Stig on Top Gear, took a 250cc superkart around a track and found its acceleration and cornering speeds rival those of Formula 1 cars. In the experience he admits to being genuinely frightened, telling viewers the kart's raw pace and grip left him shaken. The stunt is drawing attention for its claim that a small kart can outpace F1 machinery on short circuits.
Why now: The surprising claim that a superkart can match or beat F1 pace is grabbing motorsport fans' attention.
