Google ending ChromeOS support two years early
Google is reportedly ending support for ChromeOS two years ahead of schedule, cutting short the lifecycle of the operating system that powers Chromebook laptops. The move raises questions about the future of Chromebooks in schools, businesses and homes, and about what platform Google plans to offer users once official updates and security patches stop arriving.
Why now: Early end of support affects millions of Chromebook users and signals a possible shift in Google's hardware and software strategy.
