Macron calls Gaza diplomacy a 'spectacle that shames us all'
Original: Macron says Gaza diplomacy is a 'spectacle that shames us all'
French President Emmanuel Macron has sharply criticised the international response to the Gaza conflict, describing the diplomacy surrounding it as a 'spectacle that shames us all'. His comments express frustration that diplomatic efforts have failed to stop the suffering of civilians, and are drawing wide attention to Western governments' perceived inaction over the war.
Why now: Anger and frustration over the lack of effective international diplomatic action to end the Gaza conflict is driving attention to Macron's blunt criticism.
