Web graveyards and 56k.rip: internet nostalgia resurrects dead sites
Original: ⋅ De 56k.rip aux cimetières du web, Internet ressuscite inlassablement ses fantômes sur fond de nostalgie ambiante − htt
A French tech article explores how the internet keeps reviving its ghosts, from 56k.rip to so-called web cemeteries that preserve or resurrect defunct websites and services. The piece ties this trend to a wider wave of nostalgia for the early web — dial-up days, old interfaces and abandoned pages — as users seek out what has been lost from the modern, consolidated internet.
Why now: Growing nostalgia for the early internet and projects preserving dead websites is resonating with users online.
