LG Energy Solution

General Motors and LG Energy Solution will invest $1 billion to convert their Spring Hill plant in Tennessee into the first factory mass-producing prismatic lithium manganese-rich battery cells. The chemistry is seen as a cheaper alternative to conventional EV batteries, and the move signals GM's push to cut electric vehicle costs while scaling domestic battery production.
