Currently, storage systems that draw grid power risk losing EEG support, which has held back so-called bidirectional charging. Allowing both could make home batteries more useful for balancing the grid and cutting costs, and energy industry observers are discussing what the change means for solar households.","why":"A regulatory change allowing grid charging of home storage without losing EEG funding is a significant shift for solar households.","tone":"neutral","entities":["Germany","EEG","heise online","home battery storage"],"summarized_at":"2026-10-03T13:51:28.540291Z","meta":{"lang":"de","picture":"https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQZFmfrm_Hsn74aHMV_0aIwjt1usMgXjFEnmnoTc9yrLGdJbXjbidTXZNWLCdQ","traffic":"2000+","published":"Sat, 3 Oct 2026 06:00:00 -0700","picture_source":"Spiegel"},"nw":null,"promo":null,"kind":null,"importance":null,"hidden":false,"hide_reason":null,"judged_at":null,"title_en":"Bidirectional charging: home batteries may keep EEG subsidies","timeline":[{"captured_at":"2026-10-03T13:50:48.551006Z","rank":4,"volume":1000},{"captured_at":"2026-10-03T14:05:49.857464Z","rank":6,"volume":1000},{"captured_at":"2026-10-03T14:20:47.505520Z","rank":8,"volume":2000}],"posts":[{"platform":"google","url":"https://www.heise.de/news/Bundesnetzagentur-erlaubt-flexible-Nutzung-von-Stromspeichern-mit-EEG-Foerderung-11472565.html","author":"heise online","title":"Heimspeicher künftig mit Netzstrom laden und EEG-Förderung behalten","snippet":null,"posted_at":null,"likes":null}],"elsewhere":[],"window":"7d"}}
