Supporters highlight it as a more inclusive, energy-conscious alternative that extends hardware lifespans and lowers barriers for small-scale participants, though technical details of the scheme remain limited in early discussion.","why":"It challenges the standard assumption that crypto mining requires ever-newer hardware, which resonates with debates on e-waste, energy use and accessibility in crypto communities.","tone":"neutral","entities":["RustChain","Proof-of-Antiquity"],"summarized_at":"2026-10-02T21:01:19.764384Z","meta":{"tag":"crypto","via":"scan","kind":"status","lang":"es","instance":"mastodon.social","tag_uses":132},"nw":null,"promo":null,"kind":null,"importance":null,"hidden":false,"hide_reason":null,"judged_at":null,"title_en":"RustChain rewards older hardware with Proof-of-Antiquity consensus","section_name":"Business","category_name":"Crypto","timeline":[{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T20:59:28.025491Z","rank":12,"volume":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T22:21:27.752038Z","rank":12,"volume":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T23:44:05.836873Z","rank":11,"volume":1}],"posts":[{"platform":"mastodon","url":"https://www.urbanmind.net/display/f7dd981d-09b4ae60-cbe74d881bdcaf6b","author":"hackaday@www.urbanmind.net","title":null,"snippet":"RustChain invierte la carrera del mining: premia al hardware viejo.
