Instead of showing whole lines as changed, it uses tree-sitter parsing across 24 languages to pinpoint exactly which parts of expressions changed or moved, falling back to text/binary diffs when needed. It claims sub-100ms diffs for most changes and ships with editor integrations.","why":"It was recently showcased on Hacker News ('Show HN') highlighting its speed and 99.95% robustness benchmarks.","audience":"Developers and code reviewers who want more precise, readable diffs than line-based tools like git diff or GNU diff.","tags":["rust","diff","syntax-aware","cli","tree-sitter","code-review"],"summarized_at":"2026-10-01T21:35:48.044371Z","summary_model":"glm-5.3-flash","fetched_at":"2026-10-02T06:22:02.752570Z","meta":{"license":"AGPL-3.0","archived":false,"homepage":"https://ivankovic.github.io/omnidiff/showcase/","first_stars":43},"pushed_at":"2026-10-01T22:01:58Z","created_at":"2025-10-17T11:25:02Z","watchers":1,"open_issues":12,"mentions_list":[{"platform":"hn","url":"https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49891989","title":"Show HN: CodeDiff – Fast (<100ms), robust (99.95%) syntax-aware code diff","seen_at":"2026-10-02T05:46:43.740302Z"}],"snapshots":[{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T21:35:43.443527Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T21:52:11.343488Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T22:07:09.092280Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T22:22:15.342665Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T22:37:14.743861Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T22:52:12.745886Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T23:06:45.302809Z","stars":43,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T23:22:07.940419Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T23:37:08.744928Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-01T23:52:10.643626Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T00:07:44.147770Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T00:21:40.640305Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T00:37:05.136793Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T00:52:09.832899Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T01:07:07.531810Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T01:22:14.342139Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T01:37:14.541143Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T01:51:48.947894Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T02:07:03.930794Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T02:22:05.842425Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T02:37:08.740181Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T02:52:12.567276Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T03:06:37.686704Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T03:21:59.975033Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T03:37:04.012387Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T03:52:05.207390Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T04:07:11.059395Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T04:22:11.840150Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T04:36:44.730592Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T04:51:58.116195Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T05:07:06.219174Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T05:22:09.392073Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T05:37:10.279760Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T05:51:40.246700Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T06:06:58.821684Z","stars":44,"forks":1},{"captured_at":"2026-10-02T06:22:02.753774Z","stars":44,"forks":1}]}}
