The Tourist Development Council has approved $90,000 to pay for 18 new mooring buoy anchors, intended to give boats an alternative to dropping anchor on sensitive reef and seagrass habitat in the Keys. The funding continues an ongoing effort to expand mooring infrastructure that protects marine ecosystems while keeping waters accessible to recreational boaters and visitors.
