Sudanese government

Sudanese authorities have declared that foreign interference in the country must end and that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces must be disarmed. The statement adds to Khartoum's diplomatic pressure as the conflict with the RSF continues, with the government framing outside involvement and the paramilitary's weapons as central obstacles to stability.

Sudan's governance remains split as the civil war continues. The army-backed administration controls much of the formal state apparatus, while the Rapid Support Forces exercises authority over territories it holds. Washington has stated that neither side represents legitimate constitutional governance, leaving Sudan with competing authorities but no internationally recognised government, deepening uncertainty over the country's political future.

Sudan's army has rejected claims by Ethiopian officials that it is backing an anti-government coalition opposed to Ethiopia's federal authorities. The denial, reported by Sudan Tribune, comes amid already strained relations between Khartoum and Addis Ababa over border disputes and the Nile dam negotiations. The Sudanese military says it plays no role in Ethiopia's internal political conflicts.
