Netflix is adapting the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment into a reality television format, according to The Nightly. The 1971 psychology study, in which students role-played guards and prisoners before it collapsed into abuse, remains one of the most controversial pieces of social science research. Recreating it for entertainment is already drawing criticism from those who view the experiment as ethically indefensible.
