SAFE defence loan scheme

Roughly €20 billion remains unallocated under Europe's SAFE defence loan scheme, raising the question of which countries will draw on the remaining funds. The SAFE instrument offers EU-backed loans to member states for joint defence procurement, and attention is now on which governments will apply for the leftover capacity and how it might be used to bolster European military capabilities.
