Fito (Adolfo Macías Villamar)

The wife and daughter of Adolfo 'Fito' Macías Villamar, the leader of Ecuador's Los Choneros gang, have been arrested in Colombia. Fito, one of Ecuador's most wanted drug traffickers, was recaptured in June 2025 after escaping prison in January 2024, which triggered a wave of violence in Ecuador. Authorities say his family members were detained as part of ongoing operations targeting his criminal network.
