Baltic Sea

Russia has issued a warning to the United Kingdom and NATO that it could respond with nuclear force over what it describes as a blockade of Kaliningrad, its exclave on the Baltic Sea separated from mainland Russia. The threat follows tensions with Lithuania and the alliance over transit restrictions, raising fears of a dangerous escalation in the war in Ukraine.
