Review code changes by what they do, not line by line.
Perspica is a Rust CLI that reviews code changes semantically rather than line by line. Using tree-sitter, it parses both sides of a diff, identifies real changes (renames, new parameters, moved functions), filters out mechanical noise like reformatting, and flags issues such as references to removed names or stale calls. It supports TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, Java, and C, runs locally in milliseconds, and offers optional LLM-based analysis via Claude Code, an API key, or Ollama.
Why now: It was recently shown on Hacker News as a 'Show HN' post, presenting it as a semantic diff tool aimed at reviewing AI coding-agent work.
Who it is for: Developers reviewing pull requests, especially those reviewing large changes produced by AI coding agents like Claude Code or Codex.
